The official unemployment rate in Slovakia stood at 7.51 percent in October, a decrease of 0.03 percentage points month-on-month and of 0.41 percentage points year-on-year, the Centre for Labour, Social Affairs and the Family (UPSVaR) announced on November 18.
The highest unemployment rate - 25.68 percent - was registered in the Rimavská Sobota district (Banská Bystrica region), while the lowest was recorded in Bratislava I district - 1.54 percent. The number of officially-registered job seekers was 228,194 in October, falling by 465 month-on-month and by 10,253 year-on-year. The average length of time during which people were listed as job-seekers was 10.31 months. TASR
