BRATISLAVA has another five-star hotel. On February 24, Sheraton Hotel opened its doors to guests as the first building operating within the new Eurovea centre on the north embankment of the Danube River. The whole centre, which consists of a shopping gallery, office space, apartments as well as a multiplex, will open later in March.
“Bratislava has huge potential, and when you look at what we are trying to achieve here, I assure you that we will increase awareness about quality of services,” the general director of the hotel, Floortje Jeukens, told the SITA newswire. “We are working on competing with Vienna.”
The hotel offers 186 single and double rooms from 29 square metres to 42 square metres as well as 23 suites up to 210 square metres in size, including a presidential suite. The hotel is designed in warm colours and its general design creates a cosy atmosphere.
The hotel puts high emphasis on its services and – through their quality and the personal attitude of its staff – wants to create a new benchmark in Bratislava. The hotel offers its Anjou Brasserie restaurant, a lobby bar Port Wilson with a six-metre tall wine display and Ambers’ Bar as well as a fully equipped congress centre of 700 square metres and an 800 square-metre spa and fitness facility which includes a swimming pool.
The hotel, facing the new building of the Slovak National Theatre, is part of the new complex built by Irish-based Ballymore Properties. Sheraton is a global hotel brand and is part of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide. The Sheraton Hotel is the seventh five-star hotel in Slovakia. The country’s first five-star hotel, Thermal Palace, was opened in Piešťany in 2006. Later three five-star hotels were opened in Bratislava: the Arcadia, the Tulip House, and the Albrecht and and two other hotels outside of the capital, Chateau Belá near Štúrovo and Grand Kempinski in the High Tatras also opened.
