Poltár's Slovglass glassworks attracts German investor

A new investor for the Slovglass glassworks in Poltár (Banská Bystrica Region), which is currently undergoing restructuring, has emerged, the TASR newswire reported on Wednesday, March 23.

A new investor for the Slovglass glassworks in Poltár (Banská Bystrica Region), which is currently undergoing restructuring, has emerged, the TASR newswire reported on Wednesday, March 23.

The offer to invest came from German Crystal, which belongs to German concern AHG Industry. The German company said that it could maintain the current number of jobs at Slovglass, a key employer in Poltár. German Crystal said that its main goal would not only be to make use of the region's tradition of glass production, but also to employ local people's skills and experience in the field. The company said it also plans to invest money in strengthening Slovglass.
