Thirty unemployed persons began working on reconstruction of Šariš Castle in Prešov Region on June 1 as part of a government project aimed at reducing unemployment and reconstructing cultural heritage sites, the TASR newswire reported.
The Culture Ministry provided a grant of €58,000 for the project with the money to be spent on materials, equipment and professional guarantors. Another grant was provided by the Labour Ministry that will be used for gross salaries of €450 per month for each employee.
"Around 130 job applicants showed interest in the jobs ... We offered jobs to 30 of them for a period of six months," said the head of the Prešov Job Centre, Ladislav Babuščák, to TASR.
