Bratislava Airport served almost 113,000 passengers in May

Bratislava Airport served 112,958 passengers in May, 11 percent more than in April and 8 percent less than in May of last year. The airport said that that the positive trend in the volume of transported cargo is continuing, with 12-percent growth registered in yearly terms, the SITA newswire reported. Since the start of the year cargo volumes have risen by 19 percent.

The airport said that that the positive trend in the volume of transported cargo is continuing, with 12-percent growth registered in yearly terms, the SITA newswire reported. Since the start of the year cargo volumes have risen by 19 percent.

Regular domestic services registered a year-on-year increase of 6 percent, reflecting an increased frequency of flights on the Bratislava-Košice route during the Ice Hockey World Championship this May. On the other hand, international non-scheduled transport dropped 6 percent year-on-year. In the January-May period Bratislava Airport served 467,003 clients, down 7 percent y-o-y.
