Bratislava Airport served 112,958 passengers in May, 11 percent more than in April and 8 percent less than in May of last year. The airport said that that the positive trend in the volume of transported cargo is continuing, with 12-percent growth registered in yearly terms, the SITA newswire reported. Since the start of the year cargo volumes have risen by 19 percent.
Regular domestic services registered a year-on-year increase of 6 percent, reflecting an increased frequency of flights on the Bratislava-Košice route during the Ice Hockey World Championship this May. On the other hand, international non-scheduled transport dropped 6 percent year-on-year. In the January-May period Bratislava Airport served 467,003 clients, down 7 percent y-o-y.
