THE NETHERLANDS Chamber of Commerce in Slovakia continued its recent tradition of holding a Dutch Market and on June 4 this year the square of the Eurovea complex on the Danube embankment was filled with almost 20 stands offering Dutch delicacies and lots of information about this lowland country of western Europe.

Visitors were able to taste as well as buy Dutch cheeses, sweets, stroopwafels and beverages, books about the Netherlands and genuine Dutch bicycles, as well as get information about opportunities to study Dutch in Slovakia.

All the earnings from the sale of Dutch products as well as all proceeds from the auction of bouquets of Dutch tulips that together amounted to €2,600 went to the Socia foundation, which the chamber has been cooperating with for six years. Together they are coordinating several projects supporting social change.

This year marked the third edition of what has already become a very popular event in Bratislava. The two previous Dutch Markets were held at Františkánske Square in Old Town.
