Slovakia's Foreign Affairs Ministry has issued a recommendation to Slovak citizens planning to visit the United Kingdom to be vigilant and to avoid areas in which riots have been taking place in recent days.

The TASR newswire reported that on Tuesday, August 9, the ministry recommended that Slovaks intending to visit Britain should keep an eye on the latest developments concerning the security situation in certain parts of London and in other cities, such as Birmingham, Brighton and Nottingham where riots and looting have been taking place since the weekend. The protests and violence began after a man was shot dead by police.
