TRADE union activists from the state-run Roosevelt Hospital in Banská Bystrica began collecting resignation notices from doctors on August 30, saying they think most notices will be provided after September 5 when the doctors get specific forms, the SITA newswire reported.

“The deadline for collecting notices is being accelerated in order for them to be sent to the management of the hospital by the end of September,” said Jozef Valky, the head physician of the Oncology and Intensive Medicine Ward, who is managing the collection of physicians' resignation notices, as quoted by SITA.

The threatened resignations are intended to achieve a range of objectives including improvement of employment conditions and salaries in the public health-care system.
