Slovak Prime Minister Iveta Radičová has received a letter from US President Barack Obama inviting her to attend an event called the Open Government Partnership due in New York on September 20, Government Office's press department told TASR newswire.
According to the office, Obama expressed his pleasure at the Slovak Government's participation in creating new partnership in the area of open governance and wrote that he is looking forward to meeting Radičová in person.
The opening session will see founding members sign an open government declaration and presentation of the goals of the joint initiative, according to TASR.
The forum, organised by Obama and Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff, is designed to provide scope for discussion on open governance including transparency, responsibility, citizens' engagement and combat against corruption. Radičová will attend the event as part of her working visit to the United States.
