Juraj Ondrejčák, also known as Piťo, a Bratislava resident who was arrested at his home on November 15 and is alleged to be the ringleader of Bratislava's largest organised crime gang, the 'Piťovci', was remanded in custody following a decision by the District Court in Trnava on Thursday, November 17, the TASR newswire reported.

Ondrejčák was among 20 people arrested Tuesday. The arrests led to 23 people in total being charged with offences ranging from violent to property-related crimes. Ondrejčák's lawyer has filed a complaint against the court's decision, and now the Regional Court in Trnava will rule on the matter.

"My client Juraj O. was remanded in custody due to the possible risk of him escaping, hiding or influencing witnesses. I view the court's decision as unlawful and my client has filed an appeal against it," said Ondrejčák's lawyer. Ondrejčák is facing several charges, most notably arms trafficking and unauthorised possession of weapons.
