FOUR SLOVAK companies will get the chance to win recognition in Silicon Valley, after being selected for a three-month programme at the Plug-and-Play technological centre there, according to the Hospodárske Noviny daily.
“Silicon Valley is a place where the financial capital as well as the headquarters of many international companies and universities meet,” said Martin Jerkovič, one of the founders of the firm Studentive, as quoted by Hospodárske Noviny, adding that for his company it is a way to gain know-how and generate a response from potential clients to help them improve their production and adjust their products to the needs of customers.
Together with the three other winners – Monogram, Nicereplay and WorkInField – the firms will meet US investors and present their projects.
The idea was developed by the Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO) in order to create a mechanism to support the development of Slovak companies focused on technology and innovation that want to enter the international market.
“The aim is also to provide know-how transfer, technology and capital through attracting high-tech investments to Slovakia,” said the chief executive officer of SARIO, Róbert Šimončič, as quoted by Hospodárske Noviny.
