Nominal monthly salary in Slovakia rises to €770

The average nominal monthly salary in Slovakia during the first quarter of 2012 rose by 3.2 percent year-on-year to €770 but the real purchasing power of the average salary decreased by 0.6 percent year-on-year due to increases in consumer prices, the SITA newswire reported.

The highest average nominal monthly salaries were reported in the financial and insurance sector at €1,751, in information and communication technologies at €1,687, and in the distribution of electricity and gas at €1,333.

The lowest average nominal monthly salaries were recorded by employees working in accommodation and food services, who earned €464, in other services where the average was €508 and in construction industry with an average monthly nominal salary of €569.

The highest average monthly nominal salary was reported in Bratislava Region, at €1,015, while the lowest was in Prešov Region, at €562, SITA wrote.
