GASTRONOMY FESTIVAL:The 4th year of the open-air gastronomy festival Gurmán Fest (Gourmet Festival) will take place in the pleasant environs of central Bratislava’s Medical Garden, between Špitálska and 29 August Streets, on June 15-17. The festival will present 54 chefs from 26 restaurants in 10 countries, including Ichito Kubota from Kyoto, Japan. Those with a sweet tooth can head to La Patisserie, and visitors will also be able to taste still and sparkling wines and compete in various competitions. MUSIC FESTIVAL: Wilsonic Festival – After a two-year break, the festival of electronic music returns, this time to a different venue. Apart from foreign crowd-pullers like Ikonika, Redinho, Princess Chelsea, Mujuice, DZA, and The Suicide of Western Culture, domestic musicians too will join the cast, e.g. Foolk, Karaoke Tundra, Isobutane, Abnormal, Stroon, and others.

FASHION SHOW: Nu Spirit Fashion – This fashion show combined with designer market represents an overview of the creation of young Slovak and Czech fashion designers. The 4th edition will offer designers Andrea Pojezdálová and Miroslava Ferklová (their project combines the collections “Beige” and “Macrame”); the market zone will offer Soňa Šeboková, Maka Gallik, Pek Pek, 82 bøok&design shop, Gopopular, and We are not Sisters; and the afterparty will offer DJs Yanko Kral & Emilee (EmonoizBoyz).

STREET ART: Bratislava Street Art Festival – This festival, which takes place in several sites across the Slovak capital, brings Long Vehicle Circus, rope-skipping, street painting, theatre and animation for children, concerts, street art “under the bridge”, a fire show, oriental dance, a juggling show, graffiti, and more.

GALLERY/LECTURE: Thursday Art Talk – This month’s lecture on art in English (with a glass of wine) will focus on modernism, and the best that the gallery is currently presenting of Slovak art since the beginning of the 20th century.

FILM FESTIVAL: Art Film Fest – The 20th anniversary of the oldest Slovak movie festival will bring a host of foreign movies (e.g. Teddy Bear, from Denmark; the short animated film A Morning Stroll (US); and French film Le Skylab), as well as a profile review of the latest and best British films within the Focus section. SPIRITUAL MUSIC: Musica Sacra – The festival of spiritual music enters its 22nd year and, after an opening concert on June 10, continues on Thursdays and Sundays, with Slovak, Czech, Hungarian and even Japanese musicians performing religious and spiritual works by renowned composers.

DANCE THEATER:The Tanečné divadlo Alternatív dance theatre will give a performance of Dátum potreby / Date of Expectation at the Žilina-Záriečie cultural node on June 15 at 19:00. CLASSICAL MUSIC: Noc hudby / The Night of Music – The Slovak Sinfonietta will join this nationwide event together with the local Music Centre and the town of Žilina. From 18:00 until 22:00, the Dom Umenia Fatra will be filled with classical music, mainly for organ and piano.

CULTURE FESTIVAL: POKE Festival – This multi-genre culture festival aims to bring together artists, musicians, theatres, audiences and create partnerships.
