President Gašparovič meets with Indonesian minister about joint projects

Slovakia continues to be ready to support the development of trading relations with Indonesia, Slovak President Ivan Gašparovič told the Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Muhammad Hatta Rajasa, at a meeting on June 11, the President's Office told the TASR newswire.
The Slovak president suggested that Slovakia could serve as a base for exporting Indonesian goods to the European Union. Indonesia is interested in importing machinery and equipment for agriculture. The Indonesian Agency for Agricultural Research and Development already has a partnership in Slovakia with the Centre for Agricultural Research (Zvolen campus).
The Indonesian economic minister added that his country believes the project will contribute towards its plans for exporting wheat to other Asian countries with subtropical climates. The two officials also discussed opportunities for cooperation in tourism and the mining industry, according to website of the President’s Office.
