The Sme daily wrote that an Austrian businessman is considering the idea of building floating islands in Komárno that can be homes for affluent people.
Gábor Orsós, an Austrian businessman of Hungarian origin, has been negotiating with Komárno shipyards as a possible site where they could be constructed. Orsós plans to construct several “houseboats” for sale and some for rental and said he had already received his first orders and that the first artificial island could be completed within 18 or 24 months.
One of the floating islands would cost €5.2 million, have an area of 1,000 square meters and could house 14 passengers and a crew of four, Sme wrote.
