Patrice Peslier was named the new general director of the PSA Peugeot Citroen Slovakia car plant as of July 1, the TASR newswire reported based on a statement from Kristína Valová of the company's press department on July 3.

Peslier was previously head of the PSA Peugeot Citroen facility in Poissy, France for a year. He replaces Luciano Biondo who has accepted a new assignment in the PSA group.

Under Biondo's three-year tenure, the car manufacturer became the first in Slovakia to produce vehicles with emissions under 100 g CO2/km. In 2009 the facility was the biggest car producer in Slovakia, when more than 200,000 vehicles rolled off the Trnava-based assembly line. In 2011, Peugeot Citroen produced its millionth car in Slovakia.
