The index of industrial production (IPP) grew by 18.5 percent month-on-month in July. Factors that influenced the rise the most were an increase in manufacturing by 22.6 percent, as well as a 8.2-percent drop in mining and quarrying and a decrease in supplies of electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning by 2.8 percent, the Statistics Office informed on its official website on September 10.

The increase in the total production of industries was influenced by month-on-month increases in the manufacture of transport equipment by 83.9 percent; basic metal and fabricated metal products by 10.4 percent; electrical equipment by 16 percent; textiles, apparel, leather and related products by 11.9 percent and refined petroleum products by 4.6 percent.

On the other hand, industrial production dropped in the manufacture of machinery and equipment by 15.8 percent month-on-month, and in the manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations by 44.4 percent month-on-month.

In annual terms the IPP increased by 12 percent, while the industrial production recorded a 14.9-percent growth, the Statistics Office informed. Manufacturing was lower in the supplies of electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning (by 3 percent year-on-year) and in mining and quarrying (by 8.5 percent year-on-year).

However, the production of the following showed year-on-year growth: transport equipment by 48.6 percent; metal and fabricated metal products by 8.2 percent; textiles, apparel, leather and related products by 9.8 percent; electrical equipment by 10.9 percent and repair and installation machinery and equipment by 7.9 percent.

Production decreased mostly in the manufacture of Coke and refined petroleum products by 12.1 percent year-on-year and in the manufacture of chemicals and chemical products by 12.7 percent year-on-year.
