Bratislava became on Monday, September 24, the first central European city to host a delegation of some 120 young entrepreneurs and people working in the sphere of culture from Singapore who have come to the country as part of a project called Spotlight Singapore, the TASR newswire learnt.
The guests from Singapore were welcomed by mayor of Bratislava Milan Ftáčnik, who told them about Bratislava's economic and cultural potential. During their visit to Bratislava, the delegates from Singapore, made up of top managers from the spheres of finance, real estate, the creative arts, the entertainment industry, education, the hotel business and gastronomy, will become acquainted with the Slovak business and cultural environment, in which they are looking for new opportunities.
After Bratislava, the delegation along with around 30 students from Singapore's Temasek Polytechnic will leave for the Czech Republic in order to visit Brno and Prague. The Spotlight Singapore programme in Bratislava features several debates with approximately 50 young Slovak entrepreneurs. Association of Young Entrepreneurs head Jan Solík expects that the discussions will lead to future cooperation. According to Solík, the fact that the Singaporean delegation chose Bratislava and Prague to assess entrepreneurial options proves that Central Europe is attractive from a business perspective.
