President Ivan Gašparovič makes official visit to Budapest

Slovak President Ivan Gašparovič is leaving on Tuesday, February 19, for a two-day state visit to Hungary. This will be the first official visit of the Slovak president to Budapest after nine years, the SITA newswire wrote.
In Budapest, he will meet with his Hungarian partner János Ader and Prime Minister Viktor Orbán. Slovak Foreign Minister Miroslav Lajčák will also take part in the talks. The heads of state are scheduled to discuss current issues of bilateral relations and European and regional cooperation between the two countries in the context of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between their countries. The Slovak president also plans to meet with representatives of the Slovak community in Hungary. Lajčák is slated to talk with Hungarian Foreign Minister János Martonyi as well.
