THE US band Ceili Rain has written and recorded a song dedicated to the recalled Trnava Archbishop Róbert Bezák. The band, based in Syracuse, New York, posted the song “His Priest”, written by founding member Bob Halligan, Jr., on youtube.com on February 9, the TASR newswire wrote.
Ceili Rain’s music is a combination of Celtic, rock and modern Christian. The band was started in 1995 and has since released nine albums.
The song is a response to the ousting of Bezák in July, 2012, the reasons for which were never clearly communicated to the public. Ceili Rain’s members wanted to meet Bezák at the Lumen festival of religious music, which is held annually in Trnava, and were saddened by his dismissal, so they decided to express through song that the Archbishop has support on the other side of the Atlantic, they stated.
