Women tend to have jobs that are worse paid, and even if they do hold the same posts as men, their salaries are 7 percent lower, the TASR newswire learned from Profesia.sk, which displays an on-line survey on salaries on its platy.sk ('salaries') web site.
The survey features over 100,000 people on an annual basis who work in 500 jobs, TASR wrote on March 8. It turns out that women earned an average of 21 percent less than men last year. This gap in salaries is seen as soon as young people enter the job market at the age of 17-24. As time goes by, the difference widens before reaching its biggest level at the age of 35-44.
