Radičová receives AIPES Freedom Award

Former prime minister Iveta Radičová was granted the AIPES Freedom Award at the closing ceremony of the American Institute on Political and Economic Systems (AIPES) Summer School. The award was presented to Radičová by the American Studies Fund at Charles University in Prague, the TASR newswire reported on August 6.
Radičová became 20th European politician to give the closing speech at the ceremony. In front of 100 students from 30 countries she was speaking about democracy, elaborating on what has changed in the past 100 years in our society and the position of women in politics, as reported by TASR.
The Fund for American Studies has been teaching young people the principles of freedom and the free market for more than 40 years. It sponsors the academic institutes in various regions in the world and prepares the best university students for their future career. The list of graduates includes several important people active in business, education, politics and journalism in the US and other countries, the SITA newswire reported.
AIPES is a summer school organised by The Fund for American Studies and The Charles University since 1993.
The list of laureates of the AIPES Freedom Award includes, for example, former Czech president Václav Klaus, former Polish president Lech Walesa and current Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, SITA wrote.
