Trnava could get new investment, including 500 new jobs
7 Aug 2013 Flash News
A new investment in Trnava could result in a new plant worth €3.5 million, and more than 500 new jobs. Auto parts supplier ZF Boge Elastmetall Slovakia, a member of the German ZF group, has already sent its project for environmental impact assessment to the local authorities, the Hospodárske noviny daily wrote its Wednesday, August 7 issue.
Work on the new plant could commence as early as this November. The SITA newswire wrote that the production hall will lie on almost 26,000 square metres, with the built area being almost 14,000 square metres. The production will be divided into two phases, with the first seeing 15 million plastic car parts produced annually, and 20 million from rubber. After the second phase, 25 million plastic parts and 40 million rubber parts should be produced each year.
CEO of the Slovak plant Juergen Boelt said, however, refused to confirm the plant’s production for now, adding that the decision over whether production in Trnava will expand will be made in September. It is not yet known what the German supplier will demand from the Slovak state, as they have not addressed the relevant authorities on the matter.
The company has been operating in Slovakia since 2000 as Boge Slovakia, and since 2003 under its current name.
