THE MARTIN-based plant of carmaker Volkswagen Slovakia has produced 300 million components. The jubilee product was the differential element used in the gearboxes of Volkswagens, Audis, Seats and Škodas, spokesperson for the firm Vladimír Machalík told the TASR newswire.
While the company produced the first 200 million components in the first 10 years since its establishment in 2000, the remaining 100 million were made in the past three years.
“We achieved this milestone not only thanks to new technologies, but also thanks to the dedication and commitment of our team,” said head of the Martin-based plant Werner Landau, as quoted by TASR.
The company in Martin employs more than 800 people. It produces mostly components for chassis, like disc brakes, drum brakes, wheel hubs and hinges, as well as for gearboxes, TASR wrote.
