28 Aug 2013 Flash News
The business environment in Slovakia continued to worsen between April and June 2013, with the Entrepreneurial Environment Index (IPP) recording a 3.5-percent drop in comparison with previous three-month period to 70.1 points in 2Q13, Slovak Business Alliance (PAS) Executive Director Róbert Kičina told the TASR newswire August 27.
According to the index, drawn up by the alliance itself, entrepreneurs in Slovakia complained in particular about poor law enforcement emerging from an inefficient judiciary, a category that recorded a drop of 9.12 percent quarter-on-quarter to 10.6 points; insufficient application of equality before the law (a 7.74-percent decrease q-o-q to 20.2 points); and the lack of efficiency in the state's money-management and insufficient access to state administration bodies (a drop of 7.47 percent q-o-q to 17.4 points).
Conversely, slight growth was posted in four categories: environmental consciousness among companies (a 1.09-percent hike q-o-q); openness of companies concerning the provision of information (a 0.79-percent hike q-o-q); the stability and predictability of euro exchange rates (0.47 percent); and the system of human resources management (0.06 percent).
