Slovakia’s July industrial prices below EU average

The month-on-month prices for July of industrial producers within the European Union increased 0.4 percent, and 0.7 percent year-on-year, while these figures were +0.3 percent month-on-month and +0.2 year-on-year in the eurozone, according to data from the Eurostat statistics office.
In Slovakia prices declined 0.5 percent compared to June and 0.6 percent compared to the same time in 2012. The monthly decline was the second-most significant among the EU countries that offered data for comparison, the SITA newswire reported, citing the statistics. Only Estonia (-5 percent) had a bigger month-on-month decline in the prices of industrial producers, with Cyprus (-0.4 percent) and Croatia (-0.3 percent) following Slovakia. The month-on-month increase was the biggest in the UK (+1.9), Greece (+0.5), The Netherlands (+0.7) and Spain and Portugal (+0.5 both).
In the yearly comparison of EU member states that provided the data to Eurostat, July’s prices grew the most in Estonia (+8.4 percent), Denmark (+5.1 percent), and the UK (+4.4). The biggest annual drop was recorded in Cyprus (-2.3 percent), Bulgaria (-1.8 percent) and Lithuania (-1.4 percent).
