Former police officer allegedly involved in murder-suicide
4 Sep 2013 Flash News
A former police officer is believed to have shot dead his two daughters and their aunt, before taking his own life, in a deadly incident that occurred in the village of Bystrička (in Žilina Region) on September 3, the private TV channel Markíza reported.
The alleged killer, whose name has not been released, was reported missing, and was purported to have been dealing with suicidal tendencies. He was found dead the next day between Bystrička and Turčiansky Peter (in the Martin District). So far, no letter explaining his motive has been found, the TASR newswire wrote.
The aktuality.sk website wrote that the suicidal shooter’s wife and mother of his teenage daughters disappeared in 2000 when she was on maternity leave from her job as a police officer, and has been reported missing ever since. The website also suggests that the man was in debt, owing €2,000 to a health insurer.
