Transport Minister: Sections of D4 and R7 to be constructed as PPPs
5 Sep 2013 Flash News
A section of the D4 highway set to form the Bratislava bypass, along with first two sections of the R7 expressway, will be built as a public-private-partnership (PPP) project, the Transport, Construction and Regional Development Minister Ján Počiatek said September 4.
“The only way to build these extremely important road sections is to use PPP,” said Počiatek as quoted by the TASR newswire. Therefore, the PPP project is likely to cover the part of Bratislava bypass from Jarovce to Rača and the first two sections of R7 from Bratislava to south Slovakia. “A third section of the R7 could, theoretically, be constructed also with the use of EU funds,” Počiatek said.
