Bratislava marks European Day of Languages

SEPTEMBER 26 is marked around the European Union as the day of languages. Bratislava has traditionally celebrated with an event at the central Hviezdoslavovo Square, with presentation by cultural institutes and foreign embassies in Slovakia.
The event is meant for general public, but most of all for students, who were able to experience foreign languages through games and quizzes, the TASR newswire reported.
The European Day of Languages has been celebrated since 2001. There are 24 official languages in the EU, plus more than 60 regional and minority languages and over 175 languages of migrants, SITA wrote.
