No Slovak university among world’s top 800
27 Sep 2013 Flash News
UNLIKE all of its neighbours, Slovakia is not represented in the QS World University Rankings, which ranks the world’s 800 top universities, the website of the Sme daily, sme.sk, reported on September 27.
The ranking, which has been compiled annually since 2004, ranks MIT, Harvard and Cambridge as the world’s best universities.
While none of the Slovak universities made it among the top 800, seven Austrian universities made the ranking, six from Poland, five from the Czech Republic, and four each from Hungary and Ukraine.
Charles University is the highest-ranking Czech university, placing 233th, sme.sk reported.
The ranking takes into consideration academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty-student ratio, citations per faculty, proportion of international students, and proportion of international faculty.
