Investigators: New lead in Valko murder case
2 Jan 2014 Flash News
Police have a new lead in the murder of Ernest Valko, a lawyer and former deputy speaker of the lower house of the Czechoslovak Federal Parliament (in 1990-1991), who in 1992 was chosen as the top official of the Czechoslovak Constitutional Court.
Valko was found shot dead in his house in Limbach, near Bratislava, in November 2010 by his ex-wife and daughter.
Head of National Anti-Crime Agency (NAKA) Daniel Goga told the Hospodárske Noviny daily that they could limit the investigation of the murder to a single version of events.
“After we check the new version, we will know – although maybe not 100-percent for sure – whether it was a robbery-murder, or not,” Goga said. He deemed the new information trustworthy, but refused to speculate on when the alleged perpetrator will be charged with a crime.
