GERMAN entrepreneur Marko Weiss has unveiled his plan to introduce a regular flight connection between the airport in Sliač, in Banská Bystrica Region, and the German city of Dresden, the TASR newswire reported on January 17.

Weiss’s company Destination Service Slovakia is already operating a regular bus service between the two places, Banská Bystrica Mayor Peter Gogola said, as reported by TASR. However, demand for flights has risen, hence the company’s talks with the airport, local tourism associations and the Banská Bystrica regional government.

Gogola’s spokesperson Martina Kanisová told TASR that the negotiations are still ongoing.
