Slovak citizen goes missing in Nepal

SLOVAK citizen Tomáš Princzkel from Želiezovce, in southern Slovakia, has been missing for more than a week after he disappeared near Mount Everest, on April 20.
The local authorities in Nepal have been searching for the Slovak, Foreign Ministry spokesman Boris Gandel told the SITA newswire on April 26. The man went missing on April 20 at an elevation of 4,500 metres in the Mount Everest region of the Himalayas. On April 25 and 26 a helicopter was deployed to search for him, with the son of the Slovak honorary consul in Kathmandu on board, according to TASR.
This is Princzkel’s third visit to Nepal, and on this trip he visited the country as part of a bike ride around the world.
Foreign Affairs Minister Miroslav Lajčák on April 27 spoke by telephone to his Nepalese counterpart Mahendra Bahadur Pandey, asking him to make sure that all relevant Nepalese entities join in the search for the Slovak tourist.
According to the Slovak ministry's press department, the Nepalese official assured Lajčák that he is personally involved in the search for Princzkel.
