Economic sentiment up 0.3 points in April, still stagnating in long-term

The Index of Economic Sentiment (IES) in Slovakia increased by 0.3 points month-on-month in April 2014 to 96.5 points, the Slovak Statistics Office (ŠÚ) announced April 30.
The increase was due to increased levels of confidence in the categories of services, industry, trade and consumers. Meanwhile, confidence in the construction sector fell m-o-m. The IES was 3.9 points higher than in April 2013. Nonetheless, it was still 8 points below the long-term average.
