7 May 2014 Flash News
The Constitutional-Legal Committee of the parliament approved the candidacy of three nominees for the justices of the Slovak Constitutional Court (CC). University lecturer and former constitutional justice Ján Drgonec, lawyer Pavol Malich and judge Juraj Sopoliga will vie for the positions.
Beginning April, the parliament elected five candidates out of six nominees; and president will choose three justices from among them, the SITA newswire wrote.
Malich who was proposed by Chrisstian-Democratic Movement chairperson Ján Figeľ, has been working in the legal sphere for 28 years and wants to apply his long experience as judge and lawyer. He opines that to abolish procrastinations in court trials, either the system must be changed, or the number of judges increased.
