Gašparovič to meet Obama June 3
2 Jun 2014 Flash News
OUTGOING President Ivan Gašparovič will meet with US President Barack Obama, new Ukrainian President Peter Poroshenko and other European leaders on June 3 in Warsaw.
Obama’s trip to Europe comes at a very important time in the Transatlantic relationship as the US seeks to reaffirm its commitments to its European allies, deepen its cooperation with its European allies, and pursue an agenda that can shore up both the security and economic foundations of the Transatlantic partnership, Deputy National Security Advisor for Strategic Communications Ben Rhodes told a press briefing in the White House on May 30.
During his trip, Obama will focus on support for the people and government of Ukraine, US efforts to strengthen and modernise NATO, the diversification of European energy security, and negotiations around the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership.
Gašparovič will meet with Obama during a meeting that is part of Obama’s programme in Warsaw, which will include the US and Poland, as well as Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania and Slovakia.
