A 66-YEAR-OLD man from Prešov faces charges of robbery after attacking a pair of young ice cream vendors.
“The defendant approached an ice cream stall and engaged the 22-year-old seller in a conversation about ice cream, showing interest in a fruit flavour,” Prešov Regional Police spokesman Daniel Džobanik told the TASR newswire on June 13. “When the seller told him that the stall didn’t have fruit-flavoured ice cream, the man started using profanities against both her and her 19-year-old female colleague, threating to kill both women.”
The young woman managed to reach into her purse for her mobile phone and called the police. A female passer-by noticed the scuffle and helped the seller get her handbag back by yanking it away from the man. Subsequently, both sellers locked themselves inside the stall.
