Smer was Slovakia’s wealthiest party in 2013

THE RULING Smer party was the richest political party in Slovakia in 2013, with its property exceeding €11.2 million in value. This stems from a report on the property of political parties set to be debated by parliament later this month, as reported by the TASR newswire.
The second wealthiest party was Ordinary People and Independent Personalities (OĽaNO) with €2.3 million, followed by Freedom and Solidarity with €2.2 million, Most-Híd with €1.7 million, the Christian Democratic Movement (KDH) with €684,756 and the Slovak Christian and Democratic Union (SDKÚ) with €188,263. The properties of extra-parliamentary Party of the Hungarian Community (SMK) and the Slovak National Party (SNS) in 2013 was valued at €639,670 and €46,674, respectively.
Meanwhile, the SDKÚ was quite far ahead of the others in terms of debt, with €1.8 million. The debts of other parties was as follows: Smer with €183,820, the KDH with €72,389, Most-Híd with €30,813, SaS with €30,733 and OĽaNO with €20,761. The debt of SMK reached €29,692 and that of SNS was €554,086.
