Eustream says several suppliers interested in providing reverse-flow gas to Ukraine
3 Jul 2014 Flash News
The Slovak natural gas transport company Eustream has concluded the evaluation of the Open Season procedure, gauging interest from suppliers interested in selling gas to Ukraine via the Vojany-Uzhgorod pipeline. Several clients showed interest, spokesperson Vahram Chuguryan told the TASR newswire on July 2.
Eustream continues implementing the memorandum on understanding and putting into operation the Vojany gas pipeline, he said. Open Season was launched on May 26, 2014 in line with the memo between Eustream and the Ukrainian Ukrtransgaz company signed on April 28. The deadline was June 27.
“Thus, Eustream announces Open Season concluded,” Chuguryan said. “A new connection point Budince with its output capacity will be included among other connecting points of Eustream’s transport network, and will be offered in a standard and transparent way for the market.”
The daily Sme wrote that in practice, a new interconnection should be established with capacity of some 3 billion cubic meters of gas annually at the end of this year. Total capacity should climb to 8-10 billions in early 2015.
Eustream did not want to specify how many companies showed interest, the SITA newswire wrote, but the Hospodárske Noviny daily reported that more than five companies voiced their interest.
