Fortune-teller charged with fraud

POLICE in the east of Slovakia are investigating a curious criminal case: a fortune-teller from the municipality of Vyšný Hrabovec in the Stropkov district faces charges of fraud. Police allege she conned people out of money for telling their fortunes and offering relationship advice.

POLICE in the east of Slovakia are investigating a curious criminal case: a fortune-teller from the municipality of Vyšný Hrabovec in the Stropkov district faces charges of fraud. Police allege she conned people out of money for telling their fortunes and offering relationship advice.

“She used to do so in spite of knowing that this is not true, and that she will not render any services to these people,” Prešov police spokesman Daniel Džobanik told the SITA newswire. The fees for her services ranged anywhere from €20 to €200, totalling €2,685 as of now. The charged fortune-teller is being prosecuted but is not is custody.
