Most EU funds temporarily halted
4 Aug 2014 Flash News
IN reaction to errors made when drawing European Union funds and running the operational programmes for which those funds are intended, the European Commission (EC) suspended Slovakia’s ability to draw these funds in the majority of operational programmes.
Out of 11 Slovak Operational Programmes from 2007-13, the EC suspended funding for nine, with only those dealing with the environment and employment remaining unaffected, the TASR newswire reported on August 1.
The Finance Ministry claims that it has been busy fixing these shortcomings since mid-May.
