Štefan Chudoba left his post as Education Ministry state secretary and will be replaced by analyst Juraj Draxler, who has worked for the Centre for European Policy Studies think tank in Brussels. Štefan Adam, who served as the state secretary of the Agriculture Ministry, will be replaced by Jozef Spevár, who led one of the regional branches of the state-run forestry firm Lesy SR. Dušan Petrík, the state secretary of the Economy Ministry, will be replaced by Miroslav Obert, who served as deputy chair of the board of directors of the Nuclear and Decommissioning Company (JAVYS), the SITA newswire reported.

The fourth change took place at the Finance Ministry, whose former state secretary Peter Pellegrini became the education minister in early July. He will be replaced by Radko Kuruc, the head of the press department at the Finance Ministry, SITA wrote.

Prime Minister Robert Fico announced the state secretarial post changes at the party’s June 28 congress. Subsequently, then education minister Dušan Čaplovič and then economy minister Tomáš Malatinský resigned from their posts and were replaced by Pellegrini and Pavol Pavlis, who at the time served as the state secretary of the Economy Ministry.

On July 9 the cabinet appointed Rastislav Chovanec to the post of Economy Ministry state secretary, SITA reported.
