According to the Transport Ministry, the competition should last about one year. The construction should begin in late 2015 or early 2016, and finish in four years. The bypass will be part of the D4 highway. Moreover, the project also contains plans to construct sections of the R7 express double-carriageway. The total length of the built road will be 59 kilometres, the SITA newswire wrote. According to the assessments, the project will cost €1.325 billion.
The feasibility study suggests that after completion the annual instalments of the state will be from €135 million to €151 million, TASR wrote.
Moreover, it states that the construction of the Bratislava bypass via a PPP project is 5-18 percent more effective than classic construction. The state would not have enough money from its own budget in addition to EU funds to build the bypass on its own, as reported by TASR.
Shortly before the governmental session, KDH MPs Pavol Zajac and Ján Hudacký called on Počiatek and the Government’s Office to withdraw the proposal from the session. They dislike the way of financing the PPP project, SITA wrote.
