FOLKLORE/LIVE MUSIC: Festival Music Square – This summer festival brings various genres and styles to the Main Square, offering folklore of various nations (South Africa, Italy, Slovenia, the Czech Republic and Slovakia) within the 2015 Slovakia Folk Festival between July 2 and 5, as well as swing on July 4, brass music from the Interior Ministry on July 5 and jazz on July 6. Starts: July 2-6, 19:00; Main Square. HISTORICAL PICNIC: Piknikové kratochvíle / Picnic Leisures – The event tries to take participants 70 years back in time: Dasha Marlen will talk about fashion, music and lifestyle of that period, while Kristina Sehnálková, Míša Zůbková and members of the Club of Military History (KVH) Zolium will introduce military facts. CLASSICAL MUSIC FESTIVAL: International Youth Music Festival / Medzinárodný mládežnícky hudobný festival - This festival, the only one of its kind in Slovakia, has been divided into two parts this year, with the first part starting on July 9 at 19:00 in St Martin’s Cathedral and lasting until July 12, offering orchestras and choirs from Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Belgium, the USA, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Estonia. LIVE MUSIC: Cluster Ensemble – The concert – which is part of the Ars Nova festival – presents a selection from inter-media projects, performances and happenings by this group. CITY GUIDED TOUR: Jewish Košice – On Saturday, a new route presents a so far unexplored Jewish monument in this once thriving diaspora (three former synagogues – visit to one of them, former Jewish school, a restaurant, B’nai Brit lodge, etc.), while on Sunday, the already established route (visit to synagogues, mikveh, personalities, etc.) is on offer.
