SaS has enough signatures for vote on Education Minister Draxler’s dismissal

OPPOSITION party Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) has already collected the required number of 30 signatures of legislators to summon an extraordinary parliamentary session aimed at dismissing Education, Science, Research and Sport Minister Juraj Draxler, the TASR newswire reported on October 15.

There are various reasons why Draxler should be dismissed. These include the situation at the Methodology and Pedagogy Centre involving alleged transaction fraud and the Iuventa building Ekoiuventa on Budkova street which is an ‘edutainment’ centre that was recently vacated, with speculation that a former developer from financial group Penta would buy the land on which Ekoiuventa is located, according to Lucia Nicholsonová of SaS.

“During the course of today we should meet with representatives of Christian Democrats party (KDH) and Ordinary People and Independent Personalities (OĽaNO), and all that’s left to do is to agree on an explanatory statement, put it all together and submit it as soon as possible,” said SaS MP Martin Poliačik, adding that several independent legislators have also signed the petition.
