An improved tourist card called Bratislava City Card should help visitors of Slovakia’s capital city to more easily reach the most attractive spots, including museums, galleries, the zoo and cruises on the Danube River. Holders of this card can travel in Bratislava on trams, buses, trolley buses and trains operated by companies that have joined the Bratislava Integrated Transport (BID) system.

There will be three types of this card available with validity of 24, 48 and 72 hours. Their price will range from €12 to €16.

“The validity will start on the day of the card's issuance,” explained Horčíková.

This system has already been in place for the public transport through Dopravný Podnik Bratislava (DPB). Transport operators Železničná Spoločnosť Slovensko (ZSSK) and Slovak Lines have now followed suit and thus broadened the options for tourists. BID is pondering extending the possibility to travel by this card within the whole area operated by the integrated transport system.
