OUTDOOR/HISTORICAL RE-ENACTMENT: Rotenstein - Rytiersky turnaj na koňoch/Knight´s tournament on Horses. The end of May brings medieaval times. A weekend full of fun, ation and knowledge. EXHIBITION: Utajený dámsky svet/ Secret world of ladies –A glimpse at a woman´s bedroom from the 19th century with all things which belong to it. Except for furniture and accommodation visitors can look at many objects and details which are not easy to view on a regular basis. FOOD: Restaurant day with DobraKrajina.sk – The small village near Nitra welcomes visitors and gourmets to anti-corruption goulash, sheep cheese gnocchi or Hungarian-Slovak chilli meal. These meals will be waiting for visitors of this improvised restaurant. The event is organised by the Association  of Towns and Villages of Slovakia (ZMOS). FESTIVAL: Medokvas – The general public is invited to the Spring Festival of naturally sweet drinks, quass and mead. Try the new meads: honey lemonade or honey beer. FESTIVAL: Trnavská hudobná jar 2016 / The Trnava Musical Spring 2016. This event has become international and the 48th year brings 7 concerts, including chamber music, choir music and British Cathedral Choir from Sheffield. Strečno

OUTDOOR/RUN: 18th year of Run Up the Strečno Castle Stairs – Popular sporting event with a long tradition takes place at the castle lying between Žilina and Martin. Bytča

HISTORICAL RE-ENACTMENT: Bytča Castle Day – A whole day inside the Bytča Chateau. In cooperation with the local Považie Museum, and other partners visitors can experience historical personalities like Juraj Thurzo, Alžbeta Báthory aka the Bloody Lady of Čachtice, or national hero Jánošík and listen to folklore bands, taste traditional food, watch craftsmen and historical fencing. CLASSICAL MUSIC: The Slovak Sinfonietta Žilina (ŠKO) will play outdoors at the Old-Town Fest in the Mariánske Square. FOOD/EDUCATION: Slovak Obesity Day 2016 – Slovak edition of the European Obesity Day invites people to be more active and tries to draw attention to this issue and problems connected with gaining weight, to healthy food and sporting activities and treatment of this problem.
