ROCK OPEN AIR FESTIVAL: Topfest – The thirteenth year of the biggest domestic rock open-air festival welcomes American hard rock band Puddle of Mudd this year or Swedish rock band Europe. However organizers confirmed also other artists from the Czech and Slovak scene such as Kabát, Horkýže Slíže, Desmod, Chinaski, The Paranoid,  and many others. FESTIVAL: Nová Fun Rádio Dohoda/ New Fun Radio Agreement - Fun Radio brings also this year a summer festival which got a new shape. This festival is titles also as the biggest summer party and now it should have more places, bigger stage and new peformers. The festival will be held in five Slovak towns: Banská Bystrica, Nitra, Malacky, Bojnice and Poprad. The program in Banská Bystrica includes Slovak groups such as Komajota, Fragile Queen, Kmeťoband, Vidiek and others. Starts: Jul 2, 12:00; Park under the SNP monument. FESTIVAL: Bratislavský organový festival 2016/ Bratislava Organ Festival 2016 - The fifth year of  Bratislava Organ Festival will present the organ a little differently also this time. It will be possible to see it in combination with singing and baroque trumpet, in the extravagant position affecting up to the borders of pop music, in improvisation project with reciter, but of course also in the classic and royal discipline - the big organ reciter. Also a concert out of Bratislava which will take place in Pezinok.  The performers are J. Pachelbel, D. Buxtehude, F. Piazza, J. E. Eberlin, J. S. Bach, J. P. Sweelinck and D. Zipoli. CLASSICAL MUSIC: Musica Sacra - The last concert of the Musica Sacra, the 26th year of this international musical festival of sacred music, presents State Chamber Orchestra Žilina, Japanese soprano Nao Higano, mezzo-soprano Judita Andelová, tenorist Jozef Gráf, bass-baritone Martin Mikuš, Choir Ad Una Corda and organist Marta Gáborová, who will perform Requiem for soloists, Choir and Orchestra KV 626 of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. COMPETITION: Otvorené majstrovstvá Európy detí a mládeže v agility/ Open European Championship of children and youth in agility - Šarmorín will become a city of cynology. Man's best friends and their owners from around the world will join the championship, including from the USA, Canada, Great Britain, across Europe and Russia. INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL: Európske ľudové remeslo/ European Folk Craft - Lovers of history, culture, folk traditions and also supporters of summer festivals can await the biggest cultural event in Kežmarok, which will be dedicated to a pottery guild and Kežmarok bookprinters. A rich three-day program in the historic centre of Kežmarok is traditionally the purpose of meetings of craftsmen and fencers, domestic and foreign folklore groups, as well as actors, lovers of classical and modern music, falconers, honoured guests, but especially people from near and distant surroundings. EXHIBITION: Ako čítať temnotu - How to Read the Darkness: The Exhibition Casting a Shadow - The exhibition titled How to Read the Darkness, The Exhibition Casting a Shadow is a journey into the works of three independent artists. The oldest one, now deceased, Josef Váchal (1884 – 1969) and two living contemporary artists – Jaroslav Róna (1957) and Martin Gerboc (1971). Theirs is a certain darkness found in paintings & sculptures, but this was not what we wanted to show; instead the works of each artist overflow with original aesthetics and personal iconography, which usually goes against the stream followed by their contemporaries. INTERNATIONAL ANIMATION FESTIVAL: Fest Anča – Showing all possibilities in Animation Film. One of the main guests will be Montreal director Steven Woloshen. He creates his movies and time-lapse installations by scrapes, scratches, colours and etching directly on film strip. Also it will be possible to try and learn it in an all-day workshop Scratchatopia. The theme of the ninth year of Anča Fest will focus on Balkan animation. RACING: Power Fest – Enthusiastic drivers of fast, straightforward rides will once again measure their power at the airport in Boľkovce near Lučenec, which will host the Slovak Championship round 4 and also round 4 of the Hungarian Championship in Rally of Sprint Cars and Motorcycles. OUTDOOR: Sokoliarské umenie dravých vtákov/ Falcon Art of Birds of Prey - The Orava Museum has prepared an enrichment of holiday tours of Orava Castle. Over the course of two days birds of prey will be flying around the castle and skilled falconers will present their art. Children and also adults can await falconry group Biatec from Banská Bystrica. CINEMA: Tu to musí byť/ This must be the place - The summer cinema this time presents the movie This must be the place directed by Paolo Sorrentino (IT, FR, Ireland) from 2011. An unconventional, visually attractive road-movie drama about searching for one’s own identity, reconciliation with the past and with oneself. The movie features the persuasive acting of Sean Penn as the main character and with the music of David Byrne, founder of the new American avant-garde music of the 1970s. FESTIVAL: Festival Kvetov/ Flower Festival - The first year of the Flower Festival brings an exhibition of floral objects of professional and non-professional artists, Liptov Gallery of P. M. Bohúň, school of arranging, workshops, musical accompaniment and picnics. The festival is about flowers and people who love them. That is also the reason why every visitor decorated with a flower has a 50% entry discount. Competitors have the possibility to register their flower object or arrangement for the competition in categories: children, professionals, non-professionals hand-made creation and seniors. FESTIVAL OF JEWISH CULTURE: Mazal – The fifth year of the festival offers a presentation of Visegrad countries in the framework of Visegrad Space. It will be opened by an exhibition of comic anthology titled Golden Bees which will be presented by screenwriter Monika Powalisz. It will be possible also to join a workshop with Košice illustrator Lenka Šturmankinová. The programme of the festival includes also Polish scene of contemporary Jewish music with Ola Bilińska and an Evening of Israeli Film. FESTIVAL OF CHAMBER MUSIC: Artis - The fourth year of the festival of chamber music, which is traditionally held in summer months brings Recital of Martin Švec, soloist and first player on clarinet of State Philharmonic Košice and his guests - clarinet quartet and pianist Dagmar Duždová. Švec is  referred as one of the greatest talents of his generation, in his play is connected poetry and gentleness with great temperament and virtuoso technique. CONCERT: The Cigarette After (SK/ME/BRA) - Trio started cooperating in 2013 by playing their own music in style of melodic, ambient, free, groove and minimalist music. They are inspired by Jim Black and his AlaxNoAxis, The Claudia Quintet, Tim Bern, Jan Garbarek and others. The group usually utilises an experimentation of various sounds, functions, methods and nuances. “The Cigarette After” is not about cigarettes but about the feeling “after”. EXHIBITION: Lucia Tallová: Before the beginning after the end - Young painter Lucia Tallová will present her actual creations and new format paintings, which were specially prepared for the exhibition space. An extensive open series titled Before the Beginning After The End consists of a spatial installation, objects, collages and watercolours, Indian ink paintings of marine horizons on paper, video animations and generous canvases of landscape paintings. EXHIBITION: Edgar Degas: The naked truth - Edgar Degaswas one of the the most important painters, cartoonists, graphic artists, innovative sculptors and photographers of the 19th century. The exhibition of his works from a private collection is titled The naked truth, heliogravura series of cycle La Famille Cardinal. Collection of illustrations offers a view of French society, Paris streets and nightlife through the works of this impressionist master.
