At the end of last month, 58,000 foreigners were officially working in Slovakia, the SITA newswire wrote on July 24.
Compared to the end of May, their number increased by 1,900, while 15,600 more foreigners are working in Slovakia compared to the end of last June.
Citizens of Serbia make up the largest group of foreign workers on the Slovak labour market. At the end of June, there were nearly 10,300 Serbians working in Slovakia, up 3,200 year-on-year, data published by the Central Office for Labour, Social Affairs, and Family has shown.
Citizens of Romania constitute the second largest group. At the end of June, there were almost 9,700 Romanians working in Slovakia and their number grew by 1,400 y-o-y. Ranked third are workers from Hungary: nearly 5,400 Hungarians worked here at the end of last month, up 1,100 from June 2017.
