TwoOne plans to invest Sk20 billion in Slovak airports

IF THE TWO-ONE consortium becomes a strategic partner in Bratislava and Košice airports, it plans to invest a total Sk20 billion (€531 million) by 2015, the SITA news agency reported.

Earlier this week Slovak Transport Minister Pavol Prokopovič decided to recommend the TwoOne consortium to the Slovak cabinet as the winner of a tender for 66-percent stakes in Bratislava and Košice airports.

Jozef Oravkin of Penta, which is a member of the TwoOne consortium that also includes Vienna Airport and Austrian Raiffeisen Zentralbank, presented the consortium's bid to the media on January 12.

The consortium is ready to invest Sk19 billion in Bratislava. Of this sum about half represents so-called “obligatory investments”, totalling Sk9.3 billion (€246 million) tied to 22 projects.

TwoOne is set to expand Bratislava airport's existing terminal immediately after the airport takeover, and plans to build a new terminal by 2009. The consortium will also invest Sk1.2 billion (€32 million) into runway reconstruction and Sk2.9 billion (€77 million) to build the new terminal.

Investments in Košice airport should exceed Sk910 million (€24 million) by the end of 2015 with guaranteed investments at Sk415.6 million (€11 million).
